Beware of the Octopus

Postmen face many trials to ensure unwanted bills and junk mail get delivered to our doors.  None is as terrifying as the garden or common octopus.  The common octopus is one the most intelligent invertebrates and when threatened they eject a black cloud of ink which does probably stain.  Infact after wolves, dogs and parrots octopuses (is that the plural) is the most dangerous predator of the mailman [citation needed].

Frank Underwood Daydreams (House of Cards Season 3)

A long time ago I read the Michael Dobbs book House of Cards so I was intrigued when Netflix produced their own version set in the White House.  Its a sort of dark anti-West Wing now in season 3 and (I can't go further without revealing mild spoilers) Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood is POTUS having schemed and killed his way to the top.  Now with all this power and influence all Frank wants to do is launch a New Deal style jobs program called America Works or Amworks.

Come on Frank you can be much more EVIL than that.  So here are my cartoony imagining of what he really wants to do if he would only give in to his super villian side.

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) Caricature

This week I chose to draw one of the Avengers Assemble cast for a caricature competition and I chose Chris Hemsworth's Thor.

In our house we often have conversations about who is our favourite Marvel superhero/Avenger and usually Iron Man comes out top but when choosing one to draw I opted for Thor with his long curly hair.

After all the deliberations over the number and format of the TV election debates I'm glad David Cameron is not a marriage counsellor.

Lemmings pt 2

A while ago I drew this cartoon about lemmings for the competition and in researching it I read the story about how the myth of lemming cliff top suicide came about.   After a brief resurgence in lemming cartoons on the forum I thought I'd have another go at a lemmings cartoon.

Marvel X Mums

After last year's Star Wars Mum and previous attempts at Bat Mum and Iron Mum for this years UK Mothers Day I turn my cartoon attention to a mummy version of Marvel's X Men as that is one of our current favourite Marvel teams.

Green Lantern and the new Apple Watch

According to today's Apple event the new Apple Watch will have 18 hours of battery life which would be good enough for most normal people but probably not the Green Lantern who when I was introducing him to my son I discovered his super powerful ring needs to charge every 24 hours.
